WHAT IS GRAPHIC DESIGN?

Graphic design is a new profession in which has emerged in the last century. It can be described as a creative process of combining text and graphics to visually communicate to the audience. Graphic design encompasses many applications including logo design, website design, packaging, illustration, photography and numerous other forms of advertising.

Graphic Design is the process of combining typography, visual art and page layout to draw the audiences attention andvisually portray a meaning to the viewer.

In todays society it is almost impossible to escape graphic design in our daily lives, its everywhere you look. Signs, posters, newsletters, logos, movies… every form of visual design includes graphically designed components.

The process of Graphic Design often involves the client and designer in which the design is ultimately created for a purpose and commissioned by the client. Graphic design is a creative process and often involves a collaborative process involving team work and involvement of the client.

As a graphic designer tools include materials as simple as pens,pencils and paper, although further into design computers, programs, printers and software play a large role. The most commonly used graphic design programs used include Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign in which the designer becomes very familiar with.

Graphic design visually is an impossible part of our daily lives in which we can not escape, it surrounds us, its everywhere.
